The water report that we receive in the mail every quarter worries me. Its sad to think that they are pumping contaminated water to all these houses, and most of the letters they send out about the contaminants are probably never even read...

Once again we get a letter informing us that Texarkana Water Utilities has another violation under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. We are still drinking water that is full of pollution and contaminants. They state that they will be replacing the filtration and that we should have a reduction in the contamination within two years. Upon doing research, I have discovered that this has been an ongoing issue. The earliest report I found was from testing done from 1998 thru 2002. See the following website and decide for yourself if you think they are going to ever resolve our drinking water issues! http://www.ewg.org/tapwater/yourwater/system.php?pwsid=TX0190004 (copy and paste this link in your browser) Research the long term effects of some of the contaminants listed. I have my doubts when they say that we aren't affected by pollution.

Im not ever sure why the water company bills you so high on sewer! It drives me crazy knowing that most of my water bill is sewer, yet I live alone and most of my water consumption is used watering my many flower beds and grass. Also. this company is BIG on late fees and deposits and i have yet to hear why they charge you yearly a deposit if you pay late, and where this money goes too. Anyone else ever think about this? Where does the money from deposits and late fees go too? As mentioned above, i live alone.. I cant even imagine how the individuals in the area pay when living on low wages or on disability....
